Travel jewelry bag!

Tonight I made a travel jewelry bag based on the Brighton bags you get when you buy a piece of jewelry.. This is more of a tutorial, so I hope that it is clear, but as always,
comment below with any questions!!

Here we gooooooo!

First, you need to begin with 2 6"x8" pieces of fabric... I was going to use 4, but decided against it, so pardon the picture.
Next you need to fold the tops of the two pieces of fabric down two inches and press them with an iron.
Sew across using the foot of your sewing machine as a guideline.
Like so! ...... You now should have two pieces of fabric both with 2" hems... Now you are going to need two pieces of ribbon, both of mine were about 12 inches long, but you can be the judge of how long you want yours to be.. Line the ribbon along the line created by the stitches to see where the next stitches need to go.
Mark where the next stitches should be and sew each piece of fabric to create tunnel for the ribbon!
Now that you have the tunnels, you want to sew the two pieces of fabric together all the way up to the first hem line we made on either side so that our tunnel is still there for the ribbon and then flip, pillowcase style.
I know you can't see the stitches, but this is how it looks before you flip it right side out.. Once you flip, you will want to press it with an iron.
Following pressing, you will now insert the ribbon.. This part is semi complicated, but I promise you can do it! You will first insert the ribbon on one side and feed it all the way through, then fold and go through the other side and feed the ribbon all the way through that side as well..
It should look like the following picture..
Next you will want to do the exact same thing, except the opposite direction..
So that it ends up looking like this :))))
Now tie the ribbon on either sides together..
& Look what you made!!!!
OH, and look what it does when you pull either side....
Now you have a super cute travel jewelry bag!

feel free to comment below, and I hope you all try this out!

Hello Pillowcase ;)

Hey y'all!

Tonight I made my first pillow case in years and I wanted to share!

It is a gingham, polka dot, and heart pillowcase made for a standard size pillow.
I started out with two 19"x26" pieces of gingham fabric, and 2 black with white polka dot pieces cut 7"x19"... lastly I cut out two hearts, one slightly larger than the other.. I then sewed the gingham and the black with white polka dots pieces together (both sides) and then sewed those pieces together inside out, flipped and finished by adding the hearts... I personally love it! This is going to be one of the many things I am going to put on Pinterest and Etsy!

Ooopss... Don't forget the hems!! :)

And the final product.....

Isn't it beautiful! haha

Hope y'all enjoy!!
I'm sorry it's not in great detail.. I forgot to take pictures during!
